Take a stroll through downtown Smyrna and experience the vibrant Depot District Mural Art Trail! This collection of fourteen unique murals and art pieces, created by talented local artists, celebrates the town’s history, culture, and creativity.

Explore Each Unique Mural

Station Theater (Stop #1): Begin in the heart of Smyrna at the Station Theater (Historic Theatre Grille). The mural, designed by Purity, marks the official start of the trail and was the first to be installed in the Historic Depot District.
Assembly Hall (Stop #2): Right next to Front Street Pub, Leah Boorse’s mural showcases key symbols of Smyrna’s heritage, including the train depot and Sam Davis Home.
Front Street Sign Company (Stop #3): Brian Tull’s TriStar Smyrna mural highlights our town’s place in the Tri-Star state, emphasizing that Smyrna is “Tennessee’s Town!”
Janarty’s Ice Cream (Stop #4): Keep walking toward Janarty’s and check out the adorable Little Free Library before stopping in for a treat and snapping a picture with Becky Phelps’ Ice Cream Love mural, a celebration of joy and community.
Depot District Family Practice (Stop #5): Once home to Carpe Cafe, this fun mural by Larissa Reed and her students captures the essence of coffee, arts, and music.
Pop’s Bar and Grill (Stop #6): Snap a pic at Suzanne LeBeau’s Greetings from Smyrna mural, designed as a postcard showcasing downtown. It’s a perfect backdrop for photos to share with family and friends.
Smyrna Roundabout Sculpture (Stop #7): Created by MTSU professor Michael Baggarly, the components of this sculpture highlight the town’s growth and history centered around trains (Depot District), planes (Air Base), and automobiles (Nissan).
Depot District Sign and Zama Park (Stop #8): Cross the tracks and capture a photo at the Depot District Sign before unwinding in Zama Park. This eighth stop honors Smyrna’s global connections and celebrates our sister city, Zama, Japan.
SubCulture (Stop #9): The Good Day mural radiates positivity. This mural at SubCulture is a great place to channel positive vibes and celebrate the day!
The Print Shop (Stop #10): Head up to the second floor to see William’s Ride, an actual part of this building’s diverse history. Long before it was a print shop or restaurant, the building was an auto garage, and the owner lived upstairs. In 1968, a kid named William Brindley painted this on his bedroom wall, capturing a beloved car in his artwork. Don’t miss the chance to see this unique piece of history in person!
Viva La Fresa Bakery & Cafe (Stop #11): Grab a coffee and pastry as you enjoy the Sweeter Place mural (and perfectly Instagrammable spot) created by Viva La Fresa’s co-owner Joshua Sourignavong. This mural highlights the joy and sweetness in the world and our ability to impact it for good. You’ll find it located inside the sweet café.
Hoover Paint Store (Stop #12): Full of fun and colorful shapes, you’ll find one of downtown’s most iconic murals on the side of Hoover Paint Store. It was created in collaboration with Carpe Artista, the Smyrna Artist Co-Op, and the community.
Trellis & Vine Studio and Gallery (Stop #13): The newest addition to the trail is located on the side of Trellis & Vine. Designed by artist Madison Pantuso, the Let’s Create mural focuses on growth and our potential to create together. This mural was created in partnership with Trellis & Vine, Carpe Artista, Front Street Signs, and a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission.
Domino’s Pizza (Stop #14): End your tour with a short drive to Domino’s Pizza on Enon Springs Road. Just outside the Depot District, Vincent Mosley’s One Moment in Time highlights the Sam Davis Home, train depot, and air base.
